ABOUT
Mi chiamo Katrina Siceva, sono una fashion designer lettone proveniente da una famiglia di artisti. Ho passato l’infanzia tra mostre di fotografia di mia madre e mostre d’arte di mio padre, cosa che ha portato ad una rapida formazione della mia identità artistica. Sin da subito avevo chiara l’idea che sarei diventata una stilista e per inseguire il mio sogno nel mondo della moda ho scelto di studiare in Italia, dove poi sono rimasta a vivere. Prima del mio trasferimento in Italia, ho svolto diversi studi nel mio paese, acquisendo competenze sia come stilista che come modellista e stylist. Data la mia spiccata passione per questo mondo, ho cominciato a lavorare come giornalista di moda, seguendo poi il mio percorso da stilista. Dopo gli studi svolti a Roma presso l’Istituto Italiano della Moda, ho vinto un concorso per giovani stilisti che mi ha dato la possibilità di iniziare a lavorare come fashion designer. Spesso collaboro con altri creativi del settore moda/cinema e ci sono state diverse pubblicazioni su delle riviste con i miei abiti, alcuni dei quali sono presenti sul mio sito. Al momento invece sto lavorando a miei progetti personali e fornisco consulenze di stile e progettazione riguardo le collezioni di moda.

My name is Katrina Siceva, I am a Latvian fashion designer from a family of artists. I spent my childhood between my mother’s photography exhibitions and my father’s art exhibitions, which led to the rapid formation of my artistic identity. From early on, I had a clear idea that I would become a fashion designer and in order to pursue my dream in the fashion world, I chose to study in Italy, where I then lived. Before my move to Italy, I did several studies in my home country, acquiring skills both as a fashion designer, stylist and as a clothing patternmaker. Given my strong passion for this world, I started working as a fashion journalist, then following my path as a fashion designer. I often collaborate with other creatives in the fashion/cinema sector and there have been several publications in magazines with my clothes, some of which can be found on my website. At the moment, however, I am working on my own projects and providing style and design consultancy regarding fashion collections.
LA MIA IDENTITà ARTISTICA / MY ARTISTIC IDENTITY
Ho trovato nella moda l’espressione della mia identità artistica, moda che considero una forma d’arte ma che, a differenza delle altre, si può anche indossare. È arte che valorizza e che svela la personalità di chi indossa certi capi. Ciò che mi emoziona è la sintonia tra il design e la persona che veste un determinato capo, valorizzandosi a vicenda.
Se devo descrivere il mio stile personale, non è certo semplice perché amo più stili senza soffermarmi su uno in particolare. Nonostante ciò, penso che la mia impronta si noti sempre, cosa che mi sono sentita dire in svariate occasioni.
Amo molto le linee strutturate e decise spesso accompagnate da una visione futurista, ma nello stesso tempo ho un debole per i dettagli romantici e per i tessuti raffinati. Gusti forse contrastanti ma che si possono spiegare con il mondo interiore femminile che caratterizza tante donne, ovvero delicatezza e dolcezza in alcuni momenti e necessità di avere estrema forza e indipendenza in altri. Penso siano caratteristiche di tante donne contemporanee e per questo, come professionista, sono attratta soprattutto dal mondo della moda femminile, al cui sviluppo voglio contribuire attraverso le mie creazioni.

I have found in fashion the expression of my artistic identity, fashion that I consider an art form but which, unlike the others, can also be worn. It is art that enhances and reveals the personality of the person wearing certain garments. What excites me is the harmony between the design and the person wearing a certain garment, enhancing each other.
If I have to describe my personal style, it is certainly not easy because I love several styles without dwelling on one in particular. Despite this, I think my imprint is always noticeable, which I have heard on many occasions.
I really love structured and decisive lines often accompanied by a futuristic vision, but at the same time I have a weakness for romantic details and refined fabrics. Perhaps contrasting tastes but which can be explained by the inner feminine world that characterises so many women, namely delicacy and sweetness in some moments and the need for extreme strength and independence in others. I think these are characteristics of many contemporary women and that is why, as a professional, I am particularly attracted to the world of women’s fashion, to whose development I want to contribute through my creations.
